Have you been thinking about getting back on the open road and it has been a few years since you last drove a “big rig”? Maatson Trucking school can assist. We offer CDL refresher training to help you polish your truck driving skills and get you back in the job market.

Our refresher program is designed for drivers with prior driving experience within the last five years. You will need to have a current DOT physical, drug screen and a current CDL or CDL permit to enroll in this program.

The refresher CDL training program is 100% hands-on skills refresher — you will get behind the wheel of our trucks (“big rigs”) and drive. Your time on refresher training will also include: pre-trip inspections, air brakes, backing, city driving, basic control, visual search, speed and space management, progressive shifting and extreme driving.

In short, you’ll learn everything you need to step back into the driver’s seat with confidence and get hired fast. Our experienced instructors will work with you one-on-one to identify any gaps in your skills and make sure you leave the program road-ready. We understand that every returning driver is different, and we tailor the training to match your individual needs and comfort level. The Maatson CDL training experience begins in our office in Ventura, CA. We offer one on one on the road training with our experienced trainers. There are small class sizes for learning the first few hours of your training referred to as “theory”. We offer the “theory” training for air brakes and inspections in the classroom.
