CDL A or B Training Program

A Commercial Driver’s License allows you to drive almost any type of commercial vehicle, so the trucking career field may be wide open for you with this type of license.

At Maatson Trucking School we meet all federal Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) provider requirements and are certified member of the Training Registry Provider (TPR).  We are in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Registry Provider and have successfully passed audits. 

 The CDL A training program and philosophy at Maatson Trucking School to help individuals become a professional truck driver is focused on ….

  • Understand the basic operating characteristics of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV)
  • Complete behind-the-wheel training on basic vehicle control
  • Handle roadside inspection procedures, vehicle systems, and how to identify vehicle malfunctions.
  • Drive a commercial truck safely, navigating potential hazards.

 

At Maatson Trucking School, we believe that every great truck driver begins with the right foundation. Our CDL A and CDL B training programs are designed to take you from beginner to road-ready — with confidence, skill, and safety at every step.

CDL A or B Training Program

The driving portion of the program covers what to do from the moment you arrive at your vehicle to the moment you head home. This includes pre-trip inspections, backing up, city driving, vehicle control, visual searching, speed and space management, progressive shifting, and dealing with driving conditions. 

The training program incorporates the mandatory training programs as required by ELDT and program can be as fast as four weeks to complete depending on the students’ commitment and skills.  Each student must complete a minimum of 18 hours of training.  The school training program includes testing the student before going to DMV drive test to ensure readiness to pass the test. 

All training materials are provided as part of the enrollment process.  We over flexible training times including Saturdays and early evenings.
